Take it Apart

Consuming books worth of informations every day. Loving some creators, hating some creators, follow, unfollow, block, mute.

In this circle, our consumption of information has drastically increased over years. We feed our minds with crypto market information the moment we wake up.

Every time we read or watch something online, there's a face attached to it. A writer or a video creator, a vlogger. [[Halo effect]] is an interesting human tendency of forming entire perceptions based on a highly limited amount of traits.

"First impression is the last impression"

I've started to think about how that influences our content consumption on social media. You see a post online, disagree with it and when the next time you see another tweet from the same person, you're more likely to deny it or we can say, you become biased.

"He posted that stupid tweet a month ago. Not sure if this is true."

Sure, analyzing a post with a critical eye is just fine but are we getting biased?

I believe that impairs our true ability to critically judge ideas and the content we consume online.

For once, try taking it apart. Take the idea away from the person who says it and analyze the idea without associating a face to it. It's not always possible and even contextual but something we can experiment with for sure.
