Out of Ink
Input-Process-Output. A solid lesson taught during primary school years in computer classes.
Here's a realization: We consciously optimize our habits in order to achieve a practical goal at the end for e.g. writing for 3 hours a day for finishing a book at the end of the month.
In the given example, "write for 3 hours everyday" becomes our only focus as we're narrow-minded about achieving a goal which in this case is to publish a book. We focus on activities that is directly related to our goal.
I've started to pay more attention towards activities we can engage in that indirectly contribute to our overall output. In a way, broadening the scope of place where you're taking the input from and as a result, getting a satisfactory output.
In the example of writing a book, broadening the scope of inputs can be done through inhibiting in lifestyle different activities such as walk for 30 minutes, sleep at a fixed time.
In my own life, I'm trying to observe how walking helps me. Even if it doesn't affect in any noticeable differences, it's still good to engage in that activity cause at least I'm not thinking monotone about what I'm working on these days.
Refill the ink in your printer with different colors and get an output better than a black-and-white one.
