The Hit

Did you feel like suddenly, all at once, you got hit by responsibilities of the so-called real world?

From making stupid mistakes at the tender age of 13-14 where you feel like everything (except school) is in your hands to starting to get family and get-a-good-college kind of responsibilities at the age of 17.

It's interesting to talk about because in my mind, it's a situation which was expected yet unexpected. Maybe it's such an impactful transition because it hits the core. It changes how you live. It changes your daily-life decisions.

These changes may be small but it's to the simplest of the things in life and that, in a sense, explains how it is expected yet unexpected.

We see the changes coming but never in this way. Reality has a surprising amount of detail is a wonderful article by John Salvatier and we can deeply resonate with that idea while we experience the transition happening between the ages 14 to 18.
