Catalyst Conversations

After yesterday's idea described in Punch Me So I Can Work, this is more about how conversations with people can affect our thoughts.

I believe conversations can act as a catalyst for change in any aspect of your life. No wonder people ask for book recommendations, look for career and relationship advice. We voluntarily look for life-changing ideas from others' and that's fine.

Some conversations can act like freewriting. When taking a dive into a topic you're confused about, the conversation itself can reveal things you did not consider at first.

Person: "Why did that happen?"

You: "Uhhh maybe because..."

That answer followed by 'maybe' will be your raw thought you're unsure of and hence the usage of the word 'maybe'. Now that answer will translate into answers that will act as a catalyst.

The conclusion being that conversations are not just so you can learn about others' opinions and their answers to your problems (and vice-versa) but it can also lead to a conversation within. You may be hit with an idea you didn't think through and that'll lead to a problem being solved in the future.

More conversations. More clarity.

This is how smart and proper conversations can do exactly what writing does.

Keep in mind, not all conversations will solve your problems. In fact, most won't. It's about increasing the volume of conversations you have and a part of them will just happen to be smart or what we can call a catalyst conversation.
